  1. What is the elevation at the RV Park?

    1. Our elevation is 4,200 feet.

  2. How far is it to Crater Lake?

    1. It is 37 miles to Crater Lake. It takes approximately 1 hour to drive there.

  3. Is Rim Drive (the road around Crater Lake) open ?

    1. It depends, year-to-year, on the snow levels. Usually, the road which you can drive around the rim of the lake opens around mid-July. However, the roads are plowed driving up to the lake, but you won’t always being able to drive around it. Check the Crater Lake website for more information. www.nps.gov/crla/index.htm

  4. How long of a drive is it around Rim Drive?

    1. This beautiful drive is 33 miles long, and takes at least 2 hours, depending on how many stops you make along the way.

  5. Can you fish at your campground?

    1. Fishing season varies from year to year. In 2022, fishing season was May 22 - Oct 31 on the section of the Williamson River where our park is located. Rainbow trout is catch and release, single point hook. You may keep up to 2 brown trout that you catch per day.

  6. Do you have laundry facilities?

    1. Yes. 2 washers and 2 dryers. $3.50 for a wash and dry.

  7. Can you tent camp?

    1. Unfortunately, there is no tent-only camping. There are 4 sites that we do allow 1 tent, but only if there is also an RV in that site. These are sites #11, #16, #32 and #33.

  8. What is check-in time?

    1. Please respect our check-in time of 2:00 pm. (Check out time is 12:00 noon).

  9. What is the cancellation Policy ?

    1. If you need to cancel, please call us within 48 hours. Since we do not charge for your stay prior to arrival, there is no need for a refund. If you cancel within the 48 hours, a $50 cancellation fee will be charged

  10. What is the closest gas/diesel station?

    1. One half mile north of the campground is both gas and diesel.

  11. Are there hiking trails at your RV Park?

    1. There are no trails that leave directly from our park, but there are many in the surrounding area. We have information in our office that will help you find the right hike.

  12. How far are you from Klamath Falls?

    1. Waterwheel RV Park is located approximately 22 miles north of Klamath Falls. It takes about 1/2 hour to drive there.

  13. Why aren’t there any boats on Klamath Lake ?

    1. Klamath Lake is very large, covering approximately 140 square miles. However, the average depth of the lake is only 8 feet. Consequently, no boats are allowed on most of the lake. There are some areas on the west side of the lake where boating is allowed.

  14. What is the closest town?

    1. The town of Chiloquin is located 4 miles from the RV Park. There is a small grocery store and a hardware store, plus a place to have breakfast and lunch during the week days. The ‘Two Rivers Art Gallery and Gift Shop’ is also a great place to visit. The nearby Kla-Mo-Ya Casino also has a restaurant (Peak-to-Peak) which is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
